ABOUT BraziLive
Introduction
BraziLive is an exciting new event that showcases music and art created by Brazilians living in the San Francisco Bay Area. BraziLive was launched in early June of 2007 and has been growing quickly in popularity.
Every Thursday evening, BraziLive is hosted at the beloved Mission Street venue, El Rio, located in the Mission District of San Francisco. Brazilian photographers, musicians, artists and Capoeira perfomers bring the best of Brazil to the Bay Area public.
BraziLive opens its doors at 9pm with an art exhibit ranging from photography to painting, artisan crafts, sculpture, collage art and more. The night will also feature an up and coming DJ guaranteed to make the house jump! A cozy outdoor patio provides further opportunities to experience Portuguese language and Brazilian pop culture by screening a selected Brazilian film, live concert or music video clips.
Mission
Our goal is to promote the rich and diverse Brazilian culture by promoting Brazilian artists and musicians in the San Francisco Bay Area. We will do this by highlighting new artists every week. Emerging and accomplished musicians, DJs and performers bring us exciting beats and rhythms such as Brazilian Samba-funk, Pop music (MPB) Samba, Chorinho, Forró, Hip-Hop, Sambass, Tecnomacumba, Electronica, Electrobossa and more. |
